Black & White

Black & White

As a matter of fact, racism does exist.

In light of the nation’s reckoning over race and racism after the murder of George Floyd, we were inspired to create a series of PSAs that would expose the systemic racism deeply woven into the fabric of the United States. It began as an internal social campaign but became the impetus for the Juneteenth Speaker Series, an event that was aired live to McCann’s agencies worldwide for a new discussion every week for the whole month of June. Each discussion was centered around the topics we highlighted in our series, with a guest expert to give more context and deeper understanding to the issue.

Made in collaboration with copywriting partner LaShonda Allen for Commonwealth//McCann Detroit.

The Poster Series

The Data is Clear

LaShonda and I compared recent data points to discover that the disparities were obviously separated by race. This was the inspiration for our tagline; It’s not a matter of opinion. It’s Black and white.
